We were up at 4:00 AM to catch an early flight to Madison Wisconsin. Zach as always seems to be a trooper when it comes to traveling. He was up and happy jolly .. Here he is saying his good bye to lola before we left the house
I had mixed emotions as we get ready to go, We were excited thinking it is a family mini vacation. I am excited, bit worried and hopeful that we will be coming back to Tampa with sort of relief. We arrived at Madison around 10 AM , Weather temperature was around high 30’s with snow flurries. It was my first time to ever see snow and I think it is very cool to see little icicles falling down the ground, Zach and I enjoyed watching it while waiting for Brian to get a car rental. From the airport we went directly to the hotel where we are staying which is about 5 minutes away from Univeristy of Wisconsin. After we get rested; we drove around the town and tried to find us a good restaurant to have lunch at.. we cant decide where to go so we asked Google.. so there we go to where Google tells us to go and when we got there restaurant were under renovation.. lol with the snow falling and wind blowing about 18 mph i was sure freezing my butt off! trying to get back to our car.. so first try for a restaurant was a fail thanks Google.. were back to driving around to see if we can find a place to eat.. as we wait for the light to turn green Zach yelled pizza!! Brian and i bought look at him as he was pointing out a man coming out a door with 2 big pizza boxes.. we bought said okay PIZZA! it was one good dang pizza and pasta we ever had lately! -( we were hungry) After the wonderful lunch we drove by the Capitol , beautiful building! Wisconsin is totally different from Tampa. The look of the town reminds me of some movies i have seen before; a drama thriller, mystery kind of movie.. it is pretty cool town; We had some photos taken.. i just wished wind wasn’t slapping my face with cold weather…the forecast was 30’s but it sure feels like 0′ for me with the wind blowing and icicles dropping. We took Zach to some kids zone area where he can play and had a good time. Had a nice dinner at Bone fish Grill, where we see snow falling by the window while having dinner.. we had a wonderful day as a family. The next day was our big day.. woke up early and catch our free breakfast buffet. We got to our appointment and I am pretty nervous to meet Dr. Pauli and his team. When we get there Zach knew that this is no fun no more; he is not happy camper to be in a doctors office; he start crying and start begging to go home… Dr. Pauli and his team welcome us so nicely; even though Zach is being difficult they were so patient with him. We were able to finished the appointment and able to calm him down.. I love how Ms. Peggy and Ms. Sarah treated Zach, very nice and with a lot of patience. Dr. Pauli was awesome, I love the way he explains things to us; he is very knowledgeable, straight forward yet caring doctor. After he reviewed his x-rays; genetic reports; sleep study. He told us Zach has a mild case of Achondroplasia, he also said that Zach was exceptional .. he was the youngest that walk as early as 11 months old, among about 400 patients he had seen. He ruled out few things we were concerned about… I am so relieved!beside the fact that he was diagnosed with the condition, all the medical worries i had for months were cleared to us; my son is healthy as of right now and i couldn’t be more than grateful. I was hugging and kissing my Zachary.. he was then was a happy camper as he gets a paper lollipop treat from Ms. Peggy. We left Waisman Center building feeling rejuvenated.. I am beyond grateful; I silently prayed and thank God for EVERYTHING! I have learned so much already from this journey and there’s so much more to learn and to embrace….
